Philip Larkin: This be the verse
This poem is very different then all the other ones we have read. His language is very free. He uses a lot of slang in the writing. I enjoyed it but thought it was a little sad the way he refers to his parents. I think his perspective is coming from his childhood and the way he was raised. I think he had it very hard and that's why he doesn't want kids. I personally don't agree with him. I love my parents and they have never done anything to hurt me or ruin my life. Instead they've been loving and caring and I think that's why I would like to have four to five kids. Some adopted of course.
